Cheri Blum

Cheri Blum’s (1969-2003) brief but prolific career resulted in over 400 paintings. Best known for using cracked linen as her canvas, she painted floral motifs reminiscent of weather-worn Italian frescoes. After college, Blum began her career as an illustrator and muralist, creating trompe l’oeil, faux painting and decorative furniture finishes, achieving her vision of getting fine art outside of museums and into people’s everyday lives. Many of Blum’s designs have been transformed into floor coverings and various other textiles.
